FAQ
Is there parking available on site?
Yes, Newcastle Helix has a pay & display MSCP “The Garage” is situated on Corporation Street. SatNav Postcode: NE4 5QB. The car park is accessed via Corporation Street and is 150 yards from the entrance.
Who looks after The Core?
Knight Frank Promise are the nominated Managing Agent who operate the Building on behalf of Newcastle City Council
Do I need to be an occupier to hire the event space?
No, although we do restrict the usage to L&D, academic, professional development with a view to working towards Future City Challenges.
Can I connect any device wirelessly to the projector/ AV?
Yes, guest WiFi is available. Connectivity to projector screens is via an HDMI cable (cable provided) using our or your own laptop.
What if I don’t have a compatible device?
The Core can provide facilities in the Event space if you don’t have a suitable device
Can I bring my own catering?
Yes, however, there will be a fee charged to bring your own catering
Do meeting rooms come with refreshments?
Not as standard, however, refreshments can be requested at an additional cost
Is there WiFi throughout the Building?
The Core has Guest WiFi throughout all meeting / event spaces to be used by Guests.

Is The Core part of the Helix?
Yes, The Core sits within the Helix complex. Joining The Core in the Helix are other buildings such as The Catalyst, The Biosphere, The Spark, The Lumen, The Key, Urban Sciences Building and The Frederick Douglass Centre.
What are The Core's operational hours?
The Core is open Monday - Friday, from 08:30 to 17:30.
Does The Core have bike storage?
Yes, there is a communal area within The Core in which up to 8 bicycles can be stored.
